Actually, if you diet and exercise, you should just lose belly fat. That is the stuff that disappears first–and why you see people complaining about keeping their hips and thighs bigger.

I have to do a little bragging today. I ballooned after getting married in Aug of 07. Up to 230-235lbs (I’m 6ft even, so my "ideal weight" is around 185, but I’ve always been a bit over my ideal weight). These are totally my "fat pants" that I got last year when my old pants weren’t fitting right.

As you can see, I’ve lost a bit of weight recently. I can definitely tell in my belly (look at my belly; isn’t it cute that it’s smaller!.) Today I weighed, drum roll, 210lb! On my way down! Yay! I do think the weight is pretty well proportioned; I am lucky that way (I think that’s why a lot of people tell me I don’t look fat, though I for sure am).

BTW, I’ve just been doing portion size control, one red meat a week (the rest seafood, chicken or vegetarian), one dessert a week (if that), no snacking (unless it’s on veggies), and no soda at all (just water, coffee, tea, beer and wine).

Time for these pants to go away! Yay!
