is there something i can cut out of my diet to get a flat stomach? I only eat about 1200-1500 calories a day, or do i just need to do some excercise? is there a secret to a flat stomach?

One major factor in a flat stomach is genetics. If your parents have pot bellies, it means in order for you to have a really flat stomach, you’ll need to keep a low body fat.
Eat Healthy
Do at least 20 Minutes Cardio daily
Drink lots of water
Do exercises working that area, i.e. push ups or curl ups. And yes you should exercise daily, 2-4 times a week. Remember, you can’t loose a huge amount of weight in a week. The healthy weight loss per week is 1-3 pounds, more then that means that you are doing something unhealthy to your body. Good luck.
People believe in so many myths these days. Don’t think that eating less will do the job. In fact eat a lot, but make it healthy foods. You have to stay active and exercise. The secret is not sit ups. You have to exercise your whole body and the results will be there soon. I would suggest some running. Don’t buy any products. Just eat healthy and be active.
Crunches, crunches, crunches. If you just don’t eat very much, you will be skinny but not toned. If you do like 50-100 crunches a day, and eat only a small amount of food you will be thin and toned. Good luck!

Almost all those answers I saw have some truth but unfortunately each has some untruths also.
1. You cannot lose fat in only certain areas. You must just work on losing body fat.
2. Crunches or some type of ab exercise are a must. Just as you must do other types of challenging exercises. "Challenging" is the key.
3. If you are currently taking in 1200-1400 calories you don’t want to go much lower than 1200. However in order to lose weight you need to reduce your daily intake by 500 calories a day to lose 1 pound a week. So, in your case you may need to work on losing about a 1/2 pound a week. I know it sounds like nothing but if you want to keep it off then you want to do it healthy.
4. I believe you just need to add some cardio and weight (even females need to use weights) workouts. ****BURN MORE CALORIES THAN YOU TAKE IN. That means even though you may not reduce how many calories you take in you are increasing how many you burn off. ****
5. You should concentrate on tracking your measurments and body fat% and NOT YOUR WEIGHT. The more lean muscle you have than body fat the easier it is to lose weight.
