Crunches, leg lifts and reverse curls are the best. All you need is the floor.
Elevated crunches. Lie on your back with feet on a low cushion. Keep feet steady while raising head towards knees. Repeat as necessary. You can add twists to work laterals, as well. No equipment to buy.
Do lots of crunches. Lie on the floor with your knees bent. Hands behind your head. Try to make your elbows touch your thighs. Leg raises. Lie flat. arms along sides. Raise feet 6 inches off the floor. hold for count of twenty. Several sets of these exercises every day will give great results.
I did sit-ups and walked a lot. Started out with as many sit-ups as I could manage, and worked my way up to about 200 at a time. The walking also helped my hips & thighs. While I was standing with nothing to do (waiting in line at the grocery store, working behind the counter as a cashier myself, standing at the kitchen sink washing dishes, etc.) I’d just tighten my abdominal muscles and hold it for a count of 10, then let it go & repeat. Just keep "unconsciously" tightening those muscles. It takes time, but it works. You can also stand on your toes while standing in place to help your calf muscles; and tighten your buttocks to help in that area as well. Doesn’t cost a cent!
I just do crunches. (Not full sit ups.) I do regular ones, then to the side, and then with my legs up at a right angle. This works different areas (top, sides, and lower). This may not apply to you, but may people try to flatten their tummies just doing crunches/sit ups, but don’t do any cardio. Cardio is needed to burn fat. Running is great for your tummy!
