How can i lose weight to enter the military? And how does tape weight work?
I am 6’5" i weigh 315 pounds. I do have a large frame and you wouldn’tt gues i was that heavy. I just started working out… I am doing around 45 minutes on a treadmill twice a day and i am trying to eat no more than around 1200 calories a day… Is this a good way for me to lose around the 80 pounds i have to lose… I was also wondering how tape weight works.
at 6’5" to join the USMC the max weight is 253lbs so that would be your best bet i Know Army is way way less..I was on the path for the Army weighed in at 284lbs 6’1" i had to lose 80lbs or get down to 30% body fat And waiver in FAT with the ARMS test.. got down to 265lbs and almost making tape and then they canceled the ARMS test due to recruiting standards being met. so botom line i had to drop 60lbs to get into the ARMY i was depressed man…started thinking sense i had to loose so much weight i might as well fill my dream to become a Marine did some research and found out that thier weight standards are actualy lower to get in but stricter to stay in!! so im down to 250lbs with 15 to go…so to loose the weight 1200 calories is a great start along with the cardio once you drop around 30lbs up the calorie intake a bit and start lifting weights this will break you thru the platue…any questions just email me……….
Keep up the exercise. And keep up with the cardio! Thats the best way to drop weight.
The taping has to do with your BMI.
Yes, diet and exercise. Keep it up until you are where you want to be.
Keep it up, you’re on the right path, you’ll get there. Just steady exercise and diet.
You need to put yourself on a strict diet to hope to loose 80 lbs in a decent amount of time. Do NOT starve yourself to do it, just eat healthy. Cut out all soda and junk food. Baked chicken, rice, tons of fruits and vegetables, and lots and lots of water. Coffee is another good drink choice if you must have caffeine, it has 0 calories or carbs. You need to exercise as much as you can handle….push ups ans sits up at commercial breaks, run up and down the stairs…lots of cardio, keep that heart rate up.
If you are under 20, you are allowed 235lbs or 24% body fat (for initial entry).
Males are measured on the neck below the adams apple, at the largest part of the belly (around the belly button).
If you look at pg 23 of this document, it will show you exactly how we determine BMI
