How much weight is a healthy weight to gain in the first 3 months?
I’m only almost 8 weeks right now and I’m finding that in order to not feel nausious I have to have a snack every hour on the hour pretty much. I don’t know if I’ve gained any weight so far (but I do notice that my stomach isn’t flat anymore like it used to be) and I’m worried that if I keep going at this pace that I’ll end up being one those women who gain like 100lbs.
i lost 6 pounds by 8 weeks
Just relax. Don’t be so worried about your weight just know that in the end, all the weight will be worth it. You are going to gain weight no matter what. Just try to fill up as much as you can on fruits, vegetable, and nuts. Then you you still have cravings after that drink some water, and if you have to have a snack go for it. Try to be as healthy as you can for now, before you know it you will have a precious child. I wish you all the best.
you’ll be fine i promise i gained 60 pounds with my first and i eat what ever i wanted
My doctor said the average weight gain is 1lb a month for the first trimester. I ended up losing 24 lbs in my first trimester and that was normal. So there’s lots of different opinions of what’s normal for weight gain.
Don’t Worry. You’ll be fine.
I am at 14 weeks and 6 days and I weighted myself this morning, fully clothed same as the doctor’s office and I am just 1lb over what I weighted prepregnancy. Everyone is different and they gain at different times. My doctor said to gain 1/2 lb a week for the first 3 months, then its about 1 lb a week the next 6 months. Just depends on your body type really.
Girl, I know what your going through. I am 15 weeks pregnant and may have gained 3lbs! I eat ALL the time. Your going to start getting a belly but not necessarily gain weight. The first months of pregnancy are odd I know, but you don’t need to worry about gaining weight. You will when the time is right and you gaining weight means you are having a healthy baby. So you should feel proud!!
There is no standard weight
I lost 10 pounds in my first trimester, and my baby is just fine, and I have since then gained about 10 pounds back.
Talk to your doctor. He should be weighing you at every appointment as it is.
I was the same way and I gained 8 pounds my first trimester. It slowed down after that though, I’m 33 weeks and have gained about 28 so far. They say 1 to 5 pounds is normal to gain in the first 12 weeks but everyone is different. My doctor said my 8 pound gain was ok because I was a little underweight to start with. Good luck!
I am also almost 8 weeks now and I also feel like I am constantly snacking to fight off nausea and my stomach isn’t flat any longer either but I am pregnant with my third so I hear you show sooner (And yes I did have a flat belly again after my first two LOL)
Honestly I think its more bloating than baby since baby is just the size of a blueberry now
Doctors recommend 3.5 lbs during the first trimester and one lb a week thereafter averaging 25 to 35 lbs overall.
