The key to losing weight is burning more calories than you intake. Let’s say you intake 1500 calories in a day. You should burn more than 1500 calories that day by exercising. If you want to lose a pound a week, you should burn the amount of calories you consumed in one day, plus 500 calories. If you burn the calories you consumed plus 500 more calories each day for a week, you will have lost about 1 pound that week. You do this for 20 weeks, and you will have lost about 20 pounds.
i here you im in the same boat and i asked the same question like 2 months ago but someone told me to jump rope and it really worked!!! just jump rope for half an hour each day and eat healthy!!!
well there are a lot of things to do, but you need to remember, your teen years are so important because your body is still developing. a lot of girls starve themselves or binge and purge. if you get into that, there could be serious consequences. certain parts of your body won’t have the ability and nutrients it needs to develop correctly. For example, you could potentially become unable to have children. so please be smart about this.
talk to your mom, tell her your concerns.
Play DDR everyday and combine it with HEALTHY eating.
Or go bike riding around 5-6PM everyday.
Or join a sports team after school.
Or use the school’s gym track to exercise.
Or use your bike instead of the bus.
Or use Wii Fit.
Also..
Eat breakfast before you go to school. I know for a lot of people breakfast makes them sick, but just eat something like a piece of fruit and a piece of wheat toast with low-fat cottage cheese. Or have a high-fiber, low-sugar cereal. When you pack lunch, make sure you pack a lot of green vegetables and make sure the sandwiches you make are with wheat bread. Drink water and lots of it. Also pack healthy snacks so you don’t starve your body and end up eating giant portions. When I was in public school, I would pack fruit and shove it in my mouth in class when no one was looking. lol
AVOID WHITE FOODS
This is one easy way to remember what not to eat. If it is made from sugar, flour, potatoes, rice or corn – just say no. Remembering this rule of thumb will make it easier to recognize those rice cakes as an unhealthy high-carb snack.
Always look for colorful fruits and veggies to substitute for the white ones. Buy broccoli, lettuce, bell peppers, green beans and peas, brown rice in moderation, leafy greens like kale and spinach, apples, melons, oranges and grapes.
These foods are not only colorful they are also high in fiber, nutrients and important antioxidants. Eating colorful fruits and vegetables will give your diet variety as well as give you added health benefits.
INVEST IN A GOOD SET OF FOOD STORAGE CONTAINERS
Having food storage containers of various sizes on hand will make it so much easier for you to plan your meals and snacks. When you buy nuts, fruits and vegetables in bulk you can simply prepare, separate and store them for easy use later.
For instance, you can pre-slice your apples and snack on them over several days. Simply cut them, rinse them in pineapple or lemon juice and store. This will make a quick and easy snack for later.
Fix your lunch and take it with you to work. Better yet, fix your lunch and 2 snacks for work.
Do certain foods increase your metabolism rate and eventually make you lose weight?
A wide range of foods or food products derived from them affects one’s metabolism rate to some extent. Some foods are proven to increase metabolism and eventually contribute to weight loss. On top of this list, we have black tea, tea, caffeine, coffee, calcium, chili (capsaicin), conjugated linoleic acid, ginger, fish oil, medium chain triglycerides, flax oil, various herbs and spices and extra protein.
Make water your favorite drink. A person must have a minimum of 8 glasses of water in a day. Avoid taking soft drinks or carbonated beverages; moreover replace them with water. Water helps in reducing weight in the most effective manner.
Don’t stuff yourself with food in a single sitting; instead have 5 to 6 small meals or snacks in a day. Eating several small meals helps the body to release less insulin, which keeps blood sugar steady and helps to control hunger.
Make a habit of walking. Instead of driving car to the nearby market, prefer walking down. Walking is more important for people in sedentary jobs. Walk for at least 45 minutes every day; it helps in burning extra calories.
Prefer having meals at home. We’re more likely to eat more – in fact, more high-fat, and high-calorie foods- when we eat out than eating at home.
Try to eat slowly and put your fork or spoon down after every bite. Drink water often and talk about your day with your partner. If you eat slowly, you would feel contended with your meal.
Prefer flavorings like hot sauce, salsa, and Cajun seasonings rather than butter and creamy or sugary sauces. These flavorings not only provide flavor with no fat and few calories, but the spicy ones also turn up digestive fires, causing your body to burn more calories.
