if i do 8 minutes straight of a variety of sit-ups, will i get my stomach flat and toned?
i am doing 8 minutes straight of sit-ups in the morning when i wake up and then again at night before i go to sleep. i have a little fat on my stomach and i was just wondering if this will burn it off and approximately how long it will take if i keep this up?
losing stomach fat is about diet, not endless ab exercises
ab workouts only make the muscles stronger, they dont burn off stomach fat, you cant target fat loss to specific areas.
Fat and muscle are two distinct types of tissue. In the abdominal region, as in all areas of the body, a fat layer covers the muscles. The thicker the fat layer, the harder it is to see your abs no matter how well developed they are.
Getting rid of unwanted fat, if that is your goal, is simply a matter of adjusting diet and activity level so you use more calories than you consume. (creating a calorie deficit)
As for building abs
Hanging leg raises
Hanging knee-ups
HFL lying leg thrusts
Abdominal crunches
Cross-knee abdominal crunches
1/4 sit-ups
Knee rock-backs
Pull-down ab crunches
and Hyperextensions (for your back so you dont walk like a caveman)
Doing sit-ups will help tone your abdomen, but you have to keep doing it regularly. However, you’ll need to do cardio and other exercises to burn the fat. When you do receive the results you want, keep exercising to make sure your belly doesn’t go back to the way it was. You won’t need to do it as often, maybe even just a few times a week, but if you end up quitting completely then it’s really all just a waste of time. Don’t forget to eat healthy!
it might help and its going to hurt your stomach it will probably only take a week or 2
Do you feel ‘the burn’?
No pain no gain.
If your stomach muscles aren’t searing pain you aren’t doing enough.
Timing it is pointless because you can go at a slower or faster rate. You need to count each crunch/sit up and increase the number every day.
Good luck!
No it won’t… doing sit-ups mostly just tones your abdominal muscles (the 6-pak)
Running everyday and doing cardio erases the fat from your stomach, so you can SEE the 6-pak abs the sit=ups create
