There really is no such thing as targeted weight loss – which is where you try and lose fat from only one area. Think of your stomach as actors getting ready behind a closed curtain – one day the curtain will open and the actors will look beautiful. So your stomach muscles can be crunched as much as you want, but there will be a curtain of fat over them until you exercise it off.
Do cardio, and get creative with what you do, if you’re constantly changing then you wont get tired and your body will keep losing fat.
try all different things – aerobics, fitness video, running, swimming, weights, walking, rock climbing – anything. This will burn the fat.
Then do some stomach exercises once a day or every second day, so that your muscles will be ready once the fat goes away.
These are all good for stomach (google them)
burpees, crunches, Pilate’s 100′s, crunch twists, fitball sit ups.
Perseverance is the key.
if you eat sensibly, have enough fruit and veg, but dont under eat. Sit ups and crunches work fine, but you have to keep your stomach muxcles tiight while doing them otherwise it doesnt do much.
try to eat a lot of fiber and not so many carbs….and do pilates! You should be rocking that hot belly in no time!
To flatten your stomach you need to lose fat. Sit ups just strengthen the muscles underneath that fat and thus, at least on their own will not flatten your stomach. To lose weight you need to take more exercise and reduce the number of calories you eat. This way your body will burn more calories than it consumes, and therefore it will burn stored fat for energy. The right foods are plenty of vegetables and fruit, lean proteins, moderate amounts of healthy fats and easy on refined carbohydrates such as bread and pasta.
