the common misconception is that crunches with help get rid of belly fat. the truth is you need cardio exercise to burn the fat. crunches and stomach exercises just tone the muscle, but what good is that if you dont see it? i suggest jogging, walking, or my favorite the eliptical for like 30 mins a day or so, plus some crunches or ab exercises. good luck :]

You can eat pretty much whatever you want (within reason), as long as you exercise regularly.
Do sit-ups and crunches to work out your abs – vary the style. Look online for different types of situps – rotating, inverted, etc. – do several sets a day, and you will have a flat stomach in no time. If you want it to be more cut/defined, then hold onto weights while you do your situps.
If you have extra weight that you need to burn, jog – or better yet, ride a bicycle. I usually use the elliptical machine at the gym for cardio if the weather won’t allow bicycling (I can’t stand exercise bikes).
